United Kingdom is a developed country and has the world’s sixth-largest economy; it has a high-income economy and high Human Development Index ranking 14th in the world. Considering the education in the United Kingdom, it is highly developed and each country has its own separate education system. 38% of United Kingdom’s population has a university or a college degree.  Being one of the most popular destinations to study, Britain is richly known for its language, history and culture. Choosing to study here has great academic, financial and social advantages.

Britain also known as United Kingdom is made up of four constituent countries and their capitals: England- London, Scotland- Edinburgh, Wales- Cardiff, Northern Ireland- Belfast. Other major cities are Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds and Liverpool. The United Kingdom is a unitary parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy. The current monarch is Queen Elizabeth II. The UK’s de facto official language is English. Almost 2.7% of population speaks Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali and Gujarati. Speaking of religion, majority of the population follow Christianity, with the next largest faiths being Islam, Hinduism and Sikhism etc.

Education system in the UK consists for 4 main parts; primary, secondary, further and higher education

Ages 5 to 11 attend the primary school, after 11 years a student will move into secondary education till age 16. At age 16 students pursue their GSCE after that students can decide to continue education or start working.

Once student finishes secondary education they have the option to extend into further education, undertaking A-levels, BTEC or other such qualifications. Students planning to pursue higher education must undertake further education.

Finally coming to higher education, it consists of University degree, graduation and post-graduation certificates.
